How to Transition Your Home from Fall to Winter
As the fall leaves fade and winter’s chill settles in, it’s natural to want to transform your home to reflect the season’s beauty. With the holidays on the horizon, decorating doesn’t have to be a budget-breaking or time-consuming process. On today’s post, let’s focus on creating a cozy, inviting home for gatherings that feels authentic to your family’s style.
The Road to 40: Becoming the Best Version of Myself
This milestone birthday feels like a pivotal moment-almost like a fresh chapter (it is a new decade of life after all), where I’ve been striving to become the healthiest and happiest version of myself. It’s not just about physical health, though that was a huge part of the transformation. It’s also about mindset, habits, and removing things that no longer serve me.
Featured Project: West Seattle Farmhouse
When I first met the Lewis family, I was particularly excited because, as someone who knows modern farmhouses inside and out, I felt an immediate connection with the client’s vision. They had already resonated with another project we were working on, so when they reached out, they told me our styles would naturally align (and yes, that’s quite literally what she said in her first email).
We’re Building a House!
It feels surreal to even be typing this because even though we’ve been dreaming about this for some time now, it all happened very fast and we’re still processing it honestly.
The New Styled Out West
Since SOW started as a lifestyle blog and interior design was added later, that’s exactly how the website felt — like we were a lifestyle blog who also dabbled in interior design. I needed the new site to be quite the opposite of that and not only showcase all our beautiful projects, but reflect all the hard work I had put into perfecting our client experience.
Why I Won't Be Making Any New Resolutions in 2024
I’ve never been big on resolutions or goals, but rather I like to think of them as intentions. At the start of every new year, I think to myself, what do I want to accomplish this year and why? If it’s not something that’s extremely important to me or something that has substantial meaning or thought behind it, it likely won’t happen.
