Dream Home Inspiration: Living Room
With Thanksgiving next week, this is the room I can’t stop thinking about. I love to entertain, and although we won't be in the house for the holiday, I can’t help but dream of one day hosting a holiday dinner in this space. I was lucky enough to work with Tree, {a one-stop destination for sustainable style, offering naturally beautiful eco-chic furnishings and finishing touches lovingly made “from the heart”} on designing a dining room table for our new space. Because the heart of our home is open concept, I wanted this space to not only be a defining room in between the kitchen and living area, but also a place that felt warm and inviting. Our idea is to flank benches on each side of the table - I am also envisioning some type of sheep skin rug draped over a wood bench for added comfort and texture. I haven’t decided yet if I’m going to do a host/hostess chair on each end of the table - I want to spend some time in the space first once it’s done before I decide.
On one end of the dining room is a reading bench. I have always wanted one of these! It fit perfectly into the design because it attached to the second built in, and it also brings in an element of extra storage for Tayler’s toys and things. I can already see many Sunday mornings drinking coffee and reading books here.
On the other side, will be an 8 foot long wet bar. This is the show stopper of the space as it will have a GORGEOUS printed tile that will go up the wall to the top of the cabinets. We added in some wood stained floating shelves to add open storage and bring in that farmhouse feel with the wood. This will be the place to be when we host parties because it will house all the booze {and coffee for the next morning}. I can’t wait to show you the finished product! We are getting so close to being done and I’m pretty sure these days are going by in slow motion {or I just can’t handle the anticipation}. Home remodel #2 update coming to you soon!
