Welcome to the Styled Out West Blog
Never miss a thing!
We’re Building a House!
It feels surreal to even be typing this because even though we’ve been dreaming about this for some time now, it all happened very fast and we’re still processing it honestly.
The New Styled Out West
Since SOW started as a lifestyle blog and interior design was added later, that’s exactly how the website felt — like we were a lifestyle blog who also dabbled in interior design. I needed the new site to be quite the opposite of that and not only showcase all our beautiful projects, but reflect all the hard work I had put into perfecting our client experience.
Why I Won't Be Making Any New Resolutions in 2024
I’ve never been big on resolutions or goals, but rather I like to think of them as intentions. At the start of every new year, I think to myself, what do I want to accomplish this year and why? If it’s not something that’s extremely important to me or something that has substantial meaning or thought behind it, it likely won’t happen.
Why an Interior Designer Should Be Your First Call
Embarking on a home renovation journey can be an exhilarating yet daunting experience. Whether you're redesigning a single room or undergoing a complete home makeover, the importance of hiring an Interior Designer cannot be overstated. With our expertise in aesthetics, functionality, and industry knowledge, we can bring a wealth of benefits to the table.
Featured Project: Seward Park New Build
When I first met this family, they were in the very beginning stages of the new build process. They had decided to tear down their existing home and replace it with a pre-fabricated farmhouse they purchased from a company in another state. What does that mean? Well basically, the home was shipped to them via truck in large segments. So rather than building from scratch they already had the framework for the house and they brought me in to design the inside.
How to Create a Capsule Wardrobe
So what is a capsule closet? In essence, a capsule embraces quality over quantity and favors versatility — less items (thanks to those key, neutral pieces), endless options. While there’s no magic number, it’s important to hone in on the 20% of your closet you use, wear, and love, and let go of the rest. If you’re ready to say yes to more joy, peace, and abundance in your closet then you’ll want to read this post.
When one of our past clients reached out with the unexpected news that they were moving, we knew we had to make their new house feel just as special as the home we had previously designed for them. This project was all about blending the pieces they loved with a brand-new space, honoring their nostalgia while creating fresh, intentional designs. From a stunning built-in bar area to a cozy, light-filled living room and a playful yet timeless kids' space, every detail was thoughtfully curated to reflect their family’s style.
